It’s important for me to limit the toxins I regularly put in my family’s daily life. There are so many toxins in our world and facing them is inevitable, so I like to control what I can. And, that control starts with the non-toxic products I bring into our home. A healthy, simple lifestyle makes my family and myself feel our best at home, at school, and at work.
I’m going to include a few of my favorite products that I use and am really happy with. Obviously, none of this is medical advice. I’m just sharing my opinions. Always do your own research!
It’s important as adults to be constantly LEARNing, and I love to learn about natural living, as I believe it’s better for the environment and better for our bodies. In order to have enough energy to PLAY and to create a safe environment to PLAY, I’ve needed to reduce the toxic load in my life and address root causes. I’ve done this through more natural living. And, of course, I’m always READing and that includes reading about healthier life choices for my family and for me.
Risewell for non-toxic toothpaste and mouthwash
I love Risewell’s toothpaste and mouthwash! I’ve tried the floss, but it doesn’t work for me because I need a floss that glides really well. Their floss is okay, but it doesn’t glide quite well enough for me. The toothpaste and mouthwash though? Excellent! I love them so much! They also have toothpaste specifically for kids.
Branch Basics for pretty much all household cleaning
Branch Basics is actually a pretty inexpensive option for cleaning! I love that it’s non-toxic, so I feel safe using it where kids eat and play, as well as with baby clothes.
Thorne for prenatal multivitamin
I use Thorne for my prenatal multivitamin. I take it after dinner to help prevent nausea. I’m not pregnant, but I like to take a prenatal during child-bearing years. (Just in case!)
Alaffia African Black Soap All-In-One (Unscented) for non-toxic body wash and shampoo
I am extremely sensitive to soaps, and Alaffia’s African Black Soap is the only one I love. I use it for body wash and shampoo. It doesn’t make suds like conventional soaps, but it leaves me feeling clean and fresh (and doesn’t give me a rash).
Air Doctor air purifier for clean air
I use this air purifier in our home constantly. It lights up red, orange, or green depending on the air quality. It’s on the pricier side, but it’s worth it to me to be breathing clean air.
Jojoba oil from Now Foods for facial cleansing and moisturizing
I use jojoba oil to wash my face twice a day, as well as a moisturizer on my face. It works great to take off my makeup. Now Foods offers a pretty reasonably priced option for organic jojoba oil, which I appreciate.
Ganoderma or reishi mushrooms from Organo in the form of non-toxic coffee or non-toxic capsules
I think incorporating reishi mushrooms into my daily life has affected my health (for the better) more than anything else I’ve done. It’s important to do your research to make sure any reishi mushrooms you’re incorporating into your life are quality. I personally trust Organo as the best company I’ve found when it comes to ganoderma. My husband drinks King Coffee, as it is an organic coffee tested for mold with reishi spores inside. I take the spore capsules daily.
Bonus: Balanced Health scans
I love Balanced Health as they provide really interesting information about potential resonating imbalances within the body. Personally, I’ve done a full scan and a remedy scan. My mom, aunt, and husband have also done full scans. Another aunt did a balancing scan, and everyone I know who has gotten a scan done has been really impressed with the information Balanced Health provides. USE CODE: pirus FOR $20 OFF ANY SCAN OR CODE: pirussub FOR $5 OFF EACH MONTHLY PAYMENT OF A SUBSCRIPTION PACKAGE.
