How to make beach boards with seashells
What you need:
- Boards – We used these from Jerry’s Art-a-Rama and they worked great!
- Liquid watercolors in yellow and blue
- Paintbrushes
- Seashells – You can buy them from the store, like these, or you can use ones from the beach!
- Glue
- Water cups for cleaning the brushes, if the kids choose to do that
What to do:
- First, the kids can use the paintbrushes and watercolors to paint the boards. Some kids did a half yellow, half blue board (sand and water/sky) and others did a mixture. It’s totally up to the kids!
- Then, the kids can glue on the shells with the glue. It’s up to the kids if they’d like to paint the shells or leave them as is.
- Once it’s dry, you can display it! It’s seriously such a beautiful piece of art that is wonderful for displaying those special seashells!
- Please note: Each child will end up with a different product, but remember – it’s about the process! And if the background is green with one seashell glued on? That’s beautiful! If it turns out looking exactly like a beach? That’s beautiful! Honestly, I love how differently all of ours turned out. The kids had a blast, and that’s what matters.
1. Paint the board.
2. Glue the shells on.
3. Optional: Paint the shells.
4. Display the finished products. They’re gorgeous!
