Tilly & Tank by Jay Fleck
Tilly the elephant and Tank (the tank) meet. Can they look past their differences and make friends, not war? You’ll love this heartwarming story with beautiful illustrations. And Tilly is just so cute!
Elmer and the Tune by David McKee
If you love Elmer, you’ll love reading this new book. It’s a classic already. Elmer’s friend Rose has a tune stuck in her head and she passes it on to the enter jungle!
How to Find an Elephant by Kate Banks
Such a cute book! Kids will love scanning the pictures looking for the elephant. And you never know, the elephant may end up finding you!
Double Take! A New Look at Opposites by Susan Hood
A rhyming book that demonstrates the opposites with a boy and his pet elephant. The catchy rhythm and gorgeous illustrations will have your kids loving opposites in no time!
I Dream of an Elephant by Ami Rubinger
This simple book is perfect for practicing colors. One page has a rhyme about the elephant illustrated and the next page says, “I dream of an elephant whose color is…” And older kids will pick it up from the rhyme, but younger kids can practice learning their colors by telling you what the color is. It’s awesome and very sweet.
Playdates Rule! by Rob McClurkan
Ezra invites a friend over for a playdate. Much to his parents’ surprise, Ezra’s friend is Finley – an elephant! Ezra’s parents create a few playdate rules as Ezra and Finley have a wonderful time together (but wreak havoc across the neighborhood.) The illustrations add a lot to the story, as well.
Welcome Little One by Sandra Magsamen
This book is so, so, so sweet! It’s a love letter from parents to their new baby. The font looks like handwriting and the illustrations have a home-made feel to them. It even has a page in the front where parents can write the name of the baby and other features to help remember the special day when Baby arrived. I highly recommend because it can become a sentimental keepsake that will be treasured for years to come. (You may need to get a copy special for each child!) And the elephants are just adorable!
Strictly No Elephants by Lisa Mantchev
This sweet book is all about the importance of being a good friend, as well as the love people have for pets. When a boy’s pet elephant is not allowed into Pet Club, the boy must find a way to make all pets feel special – no matter what they look like. It’s WONDERFUL!
Wish by Matthew Cordell
The most perfect elephant couple starts a life together, all the while wishing for a baby elephant to complete their family. They travel and learn and wish and wait. It’s a simple book and young children will fall in love with the text and the illustrations. I need to buy a copy of this book for my personal collection!
Mommy and Me by Sarah Ward
Mommy and Me is a short board book for little ones. The Mommy elephant is a finger puppet, perfect for interactive reading!
How to Be an Elephant by Katherine Roy
This non-fiction picture book will stand out to animal lovers! It’s all about a baby elephant growing up – and learning how to be an elephant. The illustrations are gorgeous. And you and your little ones will come away knowing way more about elephants!
A Parade of Elephants by Kevin Henke
It’s scheduled to be released in September 2018, and I just know it’s going to be amazing. Because, for real, Kevin Henke is amazing. And look at that cover! <3 It’s incredible! All I know is that the elephants are marching in. Can’t wait!
