My Favorite Bulletin Board Supplies
-
- Cricut machine: Without my Cricut machine, most of my bulletin boards would not be possible. Wondering how I got the monster silhouettes? My Cricut cut them out. Wondering how I got all the different sized letters for the Dr. Seuss quote? My Cricut cut them out. It’s an amazing machine!
- Bulletin board paper: If your bulletin board is by a window and will be up for an extended period of time, be sure to get fadeless paper!
- Stapler: It’s the easiest thing to use when holding up items on a bulletin board. If you’re putting up a bulletin board on a wall or bookshelf, I just use double sided Scotch tape.
- Cardstock: If the detail items are small enough, I use cardstock. It’s just good quality paper that won’t curl over when on a bulletin board.
Kids’ Monsters Bulletin Board
This is my all-time favorite bulletin board. It’s so kid-friendly and clever! I love the silhouettes and it’s a great opportunity to introduce kids to some classic “monsters” like the Love Monster! The inspiration for this bulletin board came from Nerd Craft Librarian.
Why Did Dinosaurs Die? Bulletin Board
This is one of my very favorites, especially now that Jurassic World is a big thing. So – it’s funny for adults, motivating for kids, and super relevant. I’m not sure who originally created the idea, but I found the idea from this image.
Classic Pokemon Ball Bulletin Board
Kids and adults alike love Pokemon. This literacy spin on “Gotta catch ‘em all!” is sure to reach a wide audience.
Mad About STEM Bulletin Board
STEM is a buzzword for sure. And, this bulletin board could be modified for a new buzzword: STEAM. Anyway, it’s fun and will catch people’s attention – especially the 3D hair! The inspiration for this bulletin board came from Teachers are Terrific. Thanks!
Dr. Seuss Quote Bulletin Board
What a classic quote by Dr. Seuss. Just cut out/use different sized letters and you’ll get the Seuss effect.
Book Cover Bulletin Board
I love this one because it’s a great way to advertise books. More people stopped to look at this board than the bulletin boards that had words on them. All I did was print out pictures of book covers on computer paper and then made a collage. So easy and eye-catching!
Book Destinations Bulletin Board
Simple and classic and an ode to the lands book lovers love.
Penguin Bulletin Board or Bookshelf Cap
This penguin is adorable! Add a little speech bubble about literacy and you could have a real winner! Thanks to McAllen Library for this idea.
Halloween Banner
This perfect Halloween banner could be made to go across a bulletin board. With a simple background, the candy corn, owl, ghost, Frankenstein, black cat, and jack-o-lantern would really stand out! I got this idea from Style Motivation.
